COMMENTARY OF THE AUTHOR:
"The Club of the 8' was the football team that we formed the eight classmates, in the Escolapios of Granada, which, in addition, we lived in the District of Fígares. We used to win to the equipment normally constituted by eleven players, reason why it would be possible to point, here, that 'WITH EIGHT TO PLAY BETTER', improving the saying of the eccentric Helenio Herrera, that in glory is.
This painting is necessary to see it from about 3 or 4 meters of distance, to appreciate it better.
It is a "minimalist" composition, that cannot escape to no good observer, by blind person that it is..

Saludos y felicidades!

It is a sensational painting. It couldsay:
"The shadow produced by each look begins to devastate me, when the night has been captured on the white sheets."

COMMENTARY OF THE AUTHOR:
I have here to the "Electrical Duo" of the Second Time, recreated by my feverish memories. My companion one melts while he sings. He stretches the arms, in the style of best 'crooners', while I do the second voice to him and I accompany to him with the guitar.
Although ours ' poses' could indicate that we are singing a song of those of 'much swing', to the Sinatra style, is not thus: we were releasing our 'MANHATTAN TWIST', combined luck of different 'twists' that they were possible to be sung with the same harmonic structure. (That is: like almost all...).
While Miguel, my partner (today is "my Friend, the Rich"), sang a few 'twists', I sang others. PURE COUNTERPOINT OF SHEEP!

COMENTARIO:
COMMENTARY:
A year before Antonio Gualda painted his "OCCISA OF A SUMMER NIGHT" - in which Rita Hayworth is also represented as postnuclear spectrum, given that a photo of him was attached to the plane that launched the damn bomb on Hiroshima- , made this version "friendly" with the same theme.
This painting was given by Gualda himself to his former master of Drawing (with whom he studied 7 years, from 10 to 17, Miguel Ruiz del Castillo, "Miguelón", the well-known Granada poet, In the Victoria Hotel of Granada, months before the poet died, and on the occasion of the tribute that the city of Granada surrendered.
The painting belongs to the heirs of Miguel Ruiz del Castillo, "Miguelón".
On the other hand, this painting was not part, from the beginning, of "The Dreams Black-and-White of Antonio Gualda", but would be included in that collection time later.

Comentario:
Commentary:
Antonio Gualda's black-and-white oil, which does not belong to the series "Los Sueños Blanquinegros de Antonio Gualda", but was made independently of this series. This work is dated in 1986 and can be considered as the work for which Gualda came to conceive this collection.
On a cardboard cloth, the strong horizontal rayon of the center warns us that the cardboard was already folded.
Gualda himself self-portraits here, in the foreground and in a casual way.
The figures that accompany him are several of his young students of musical composition, among which are his two daughters. There is another figure, masculine and mysterious ...
On the right, the tombstone, in black, opened on the outskirts of the Convent of the Conception of Granada, at the foot of the Albaycín, which is dedicated to the memory of Don Valentin Ruiz Aznar.

"The Black-and-White Dreams of Antonio Gualda", 1987.
Exhibition at the "Maria Estrella" Council, in December 1987 and January 1988.
Webmaster's comment:
As its own title indicates, this Collection is Surreal, and in which absolute black is used in the way it is done in comics or comics. They are black and white oils in oversized paintings.
This collection of paintings represents a singular example, within the artistic production of Antonio Gualda.
No one can escape the fact that they were painted under the effect of a state of fury, barely held. A fury that does not hide the tenderness of the contents, generally, autobiographical; here are represented some of the author's never dreamed dreams, or realized, only, in part: the eight-man soccer team, of which he was part of his teenage years; his forays into popular music, characteristic of his early youth, in the groups "The Golden Boys" and "The Electric Duo"; the ghosts of their adult dreams, not well curdled ...
All this, under the identity of a marked surrealism, as the very title of the collection reveals.
The paintings are very large and, in their first public exhibition, they harmonized the space they occupied, within the "Maria Estrella Council", of Granada, whose building, in 2004, no longer exists.(This building was at number 9 Calle Martín Bohorques de Granada, which, after its sale, was demolished in 2000).
The important thing of this collection is that does not leave indifferent to who contemplates, in the natural, some of its pictures.
The manuscript commentary made by the painter (and Doctor in Fine Arts) Antonio Gámez (published in the weekly ALMONEDA and in the newspaper IDEAL of Granada, in brief) is of special relevance.

La vida es sueño

THE LIFE IS DREAM
"... The wire happens of conscious and unconscious experiences of the author, who ends at the memory made metaphor. The way that it leads to the Art can be a sum of disappointment and frustrations, or "congratulations", assumed, that float in the memory of the memories, but redeemed on a par in the subliming of the same tragedy -representation-, recovering the essence of its scenic representation: the space and the time are confabulan in the impossible dream of the distances, in arcane of the mirrors, combining the wished image. Indeed, this impossible dream of the memory recovered -its childhood, its family, the youth of the "Electrical Duo", the adolescence of pentagramas and sounds, the loves furtive, letters without answer, signs in the air of a thought without glance, lost boat front to the coasts of Ítaca-, everything, is solved confronting the aesthetic conflict, and the ethical one, that take place in the skin of this work. Antonio Gualda invents his endriago, its demiurge, persecuting to the man who takes with himself, gropingly, in the most visceral zone, more hurt being diaphanous, sincere, is transparent the light-dark, the target-black, the radical answer of the existence. It is prohibited, consciously, to image and similarity of he himself, and here it is one of the keys of this collection (it builds), and, simultaneously, success: the cathartic function that produces the creativity, the.redemption of the human being through the symbol, of the change, of the metamorphosis, where the paradox of the magic of the Art keeps awake its desnudeces to us and we assumed without faults nor remorses, generously enriched, to fuse to us in the long dream of the memories and the lived images.
